Non Still Life Vanitas and with Memento mori overlapping

Read about the concept of Vanitas in a previous post. Now let's see some "vanitas" with human presence in them (non Still Life). The human presence may be an angel in an educational pose having the symbolic items (money, crowns, skulls, etc) before him highlighting their vanity.

Some others show a person in melancholic, anxious, sleeping or death state beside a skull or the pile of other symbolic stuff. This category usually overlaps with the Memento mori pattern having much in common to each other

Σε προηγούμενη ανάρτηση παρουσίασα το βασικό κόνσεπτ των έργων "Vanitas". Ας δούμε μερικά ακόμα με ανθρώπινη παρουσία, η οποία μπορεί να είναι ένας άγγελος με διδακτικό ύφος να μας επιδεικνύει τα αντικείμενα των Vanitas και την ματαιότητα που συμβολίζουν, μπορεί να έιναι και ένα άτομο, σκεφτικό, κοιμώμενο, νεκρό ή αγχωμένο δίπλα σε ένα κρανίο με ή χωρίς τα λοιπά συμβολικά αντικείμενα. Αυτή η κατηγορία αλληλεπικαλλύπτεται συχνά σε θεματολογία με τα Memento mori με τα οποία έχουν πολλά κοινά.
