Luis Ricardo Falero: Sorcery and Fairies in nude paintings

"The Departure of the Witches"
or "The Vision of Faust" 1878
Faust's encounter with the world of Satan,
an encounter that takes place in the form
of a vision rather than as a physical
experience. Faust's reaction to these
figures with tiny eyes, sharp claws
and slimy hands is one of disorientation
asking 'Are these the ones who lost
themselves, believing Satan's Lies?'

Witch (1896)

Luis Ricardo Falero (1851 – December 7, 1896) was a Spanish painter. He specialized in female nudes and mythological and fantasy settings. Most of his paintings contained at least one female nude or topless nude. His most common medium was oil on canvas.

Charon: The ferryman to Underworld

Jose Benlliure y Gil, 1919

In Greek mythology, Charon is the ferryman of Hades who carries souls of the newly deceased across the rivers Styx and Acheron that divided the world of the living from the world of the dead. A coin to pay Charon for passage, usually an obolus or danake, was sometimes placed in or on the mouth of a dead person.

Luca Giordano, 1684-1686

Some authors say that those who could not pay the fee, or those whose bodies were left unburied, had to wander the shores for one hundred years. In the catabasis mytheme, heroes — such as Heracles, Orpheus, Aeneas, Dionysus and Psyche — journey to the underworld and return, still alive, conveyed by the boat of Charon. (wikipedia)

St Agatha’s Martyrdom

Francesco Guarino (1637-1640)

Sebastiano Piombo 1520

Church of the Annunciation in Żarnowiec-Poland

Anonimo,17 century

Saint Agatha of Sicily is a very famous saint in Catholic Church, especially in Sicily and Malta, who died from tortures about 251 AD by Romans because she didn’t deny her Christian faith. Her most famous torture was that of cutting her breasts, a common horrible way of execution in Roman and Medieval ages.

Sano di Pietro, 1470–73

Master of Raoul d'Ailly
Beauvais Hours - Rouen, 1430-1432

She then became a legendary figure, represented as she offers her breast in a plate (maternal symbolism of charity and nutrition) and is the patron saint of bakers, bell makers and women who suffers from breast cancer. There is also a traditional candy offered in some Italian monasteries the “Saint Agatha’s Breasts” that resembles in shape with small breasts.

Morbid war or cold war propaganda

B-class american novel of cold war with
kinky anticommunistic cover and content

who brutally rape innocent snow-white Aryan virgins

cold war american anti-cuban magazine covers

Morbid sexual fantasy seems to be something relatively common but no one wants to admit such thing, preferring to keep it hidden deep in his unconscious. But B-class literature writers, B-movies directors and war propaganda makers target their works exactly on this vicious side of our hidden personality. In many cases both three join their efforts during war or serious national diplomatic conflicts like cold war.

Anticommunictic poster of Corean War
showing Russian soldiers raping innocent girls

Illustrations of innocent children or beautiful women of one’s country abused, raped and tortured by the always evil sadistic beast-like enemy always arise mixed emotions of obvious great anger, fear, hidden morbid curiosity and sexual desire, making people not to think logically but fitfully in order to act against these alleged horrible crimes that violate human dignity (especially when committed by dirty ape-like beasts!) and social taboos disturbing our apparently serene and moral Εgo.

Thus, surely, these depictions are quite exaggerated, but unfortunately not far from truth for both the opponent armies, because they contribute to their materialization! Both Americans, Nazi, Communists, etc are responsible for horrible atrocities and sadistic treatment of living “trophies” against civilian population during invasions, or for terrorism and interrogation methods. This dehumanization of the enemy from both sides dehumanize at last all the involved parts, “legalizing” morally a cause for revenge by using any kind of sadistic method against the “evil” enemy, even against children of women starting a real vicious circle of war atrocities.

All the next are anti-american illustrations from the Communistic North Corea showing sadistic american soldiers torturing women, children and innocent people

Creepy illustrations in old anatomy books

Bernardino Genga, (1691)
"Anatomia per Uso et Intelligenza del Disegno"

Old anatomy books have a creepy mood of death, inspired by the anatomical dissections of dead bodies and the memento mori attitude before the great rates of mortality from plagues, wars, doctors dealt with. Engravings with skeletons or bizzare flayed bodies holding their skin like a piece of sheet are quite common. Let's see some of the most famous anatomy books of the past.

Bartholini Thomae "Anatomia Reformata" (1651)

"Anatomia del corpo humano"
by Juan Valverde de Amusco (1559)

William Cowper's "Myotomia reformata" (1724)

Georg Conrad Horst's "De natura humana" (1612)

There is also a striking similarity of all the above pictures with a detail in Michelangelo's "The Last Jugdement" depicting St. Bartholomew holding his skin (his martyrdom was flaying him alive):
